- Vision Screening; providing corrective lenses as necessary
- Glaucoma Screening
- Hearing Screening; providing hearing aids as necessary
- Diabetes Screening
- Medical or surgical vision correction
- Support for the mission of Lions International, the largest service organization in the world

What Do Lions Really Do!
- Provide eyeglasses for those in need. Collect and refurbish used eyeglasses and distribute around the world
- Provide guide dogs for the blind (at no cost).
- Provide hearing dogs for the deaf (at no cost).
- Provide medicine and food during disasters.
- Support three eye banks in Florida.
- Operate camps for visually impaired children.
- Operate the only school for blind with another disability. Conklin Center is the only school of this type in the U.S.
- Support Girl and Boy Scout programs and recreational programs such as Little League.
- Operate a Youth Exchange Program. Lions have opened their homes to students from around the world.
- Provide Diabetes Research. Diabetes Awareness Program supports research to help stamp out blindness
- Provides all type of vision and hearing testing.
- Provide services for Senior Citizens. OBG Lions have a supply of medical equipment for use, free of charge.
- Provides scholarship to worthy students. OBG Lions have given $1,000.00 scholarships to 4 qualified high school students every year.
- Operate SightFirst program in effort to eliminate 80% of blindness worldwide. In one day Sight First provided eye exams and gave glasses free of charge to almost 1,000 people.
Lions return 100% of all funds raised to the community through needed services for those less fortunate.

Diabetes Awareness:
The OBG Lions are committed to support this program. The main objective
is to reduce the number of new cases of blindness caused by Diabetic
Retinopathy, through education, detection and research. Diabetic
Retinopathy is the leading cause of adult blindness. Diabetes is the third
leading cause of death by disease.

Hearing Aid Collection:
Wanted: Old hearing aids. The OBG Lions Club also collects used hearing aids to be reworked and given to those who need them. If you have used hearing aids to contribute, please drop them in the same boxes as eye glasses.

The OBG Lions Club has a collection of used medical equipment to loan, free of charge to local residents .
